Nursing Assistant 

(Patient Safety Assistant) 

Full Time

Hours: Saturday & Sunday 6:45 a.m. - 7:15 p.m. 

 Compensation depends upon candidate's years of experience.

 Minimum Hourly Pay: $18.00/per hour

This Patient Safety-focused role will serve patients who require more individualized activities to enhance focus while ensuring safety. The patient population will consist of patients recovering from Stroke, Brain Injury, and other conditions that impact memory, focus, cognition, and the ability to consume food and liquids safely and/or independently.

Responsibilities:

This Unique Position will help us expand a Safety Coach Program. This dynamic and flexible program will utilize all the skills of a Nursing Assistant while specializing in a unique patient population. This Patient Safety-focused role will serve patients who require more individualized activities to enhance focus while ensuring safety. The patient population will consist of patients recovering from Stroke, Brain Injury, and other conditions that impact memory, focus, cognition, and the ability to consume food and liquids safely and/or independently. This role will also support unit and patient room rounds focused on patient safety program compliance. There will be times where this role will need to be flexible in assignment and patient scope based on the overall needs of the unit.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

* High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
* BLS through AHA is required 

Preferred Qualifications

* Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
