One California Responsibilities: As a Patient Registration Representative at St. Bernardine Medical Center you will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for patients. You will assist with patient registration identification and financial coordination serving as a key point of contact for patients and their families. Your work will help support hospital operations while ensuring that all necessary information is collected accurately and efficiently. Key Responsibilities * Assist patients with check-in and registration ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information is collected * Verify patient identification and coordinate bed assignments as needed * Provide financial counseling including explaining patient responsibilities and payment options * Address non-clinical patient needs and respond to inquiries with professionalism and compassion * Maintain compliance with hospital policies and support the strategic goals of St. Bernardine Medical Center This position is perfect for individuals who are detail-oriented customer-service driven and passionate about making a positive impact in a healthcare setting. Qualifications: * Minimum 1 year of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department physician office setting healthcare insurance company revenue cycle vendor and/or other revenue cycle related roles * High School diploma GED or equivalent. * Thorough understanding of insurance policies and procedures. * Working knowledge of medical terminology. * Able to perform basic mathematics for payment calculation. * Experience in requesting and processing financial payments. * Intermediate to advanced computer skills. * Knowledge of charity care programs as well as the various government and non-government programs preferred.
