Responsibilities:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Registration Rep to join our healthcare team. The Patient Registration Rep is responsible for accurately and efficiently registering patients for medical services, obtaining necessary information, and ensuring a positive patient experience. If you are a dedicated and experienced Patient Registration Rep who is committed to providing high-quality patient care, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. 

* Greet patients and visitors, providing excellent customer service.
* Accurately and efficiently register patients for medical services, including verifying patient information and insurance coverage.
* Obtain necessary information, such as medical history, medication allergies, and other related information, from patients, and ensure that all information is entered correctly into the electronic health record
* Assist the patient in filling out the necessary paperwork
* Collect copays and outstanding balances at the time of service and provide patients with receipts
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive the appropriate care.

Qualifications:

* Minimum 1 year of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and/or other revenue cycle-related roles
* High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
* Fire Safety care required (have 90 days to obtain as of hire date) 

Skills:

* Thorough understanding of insurance policies and procedures.
* Working knowledge of medical terminology.
* Able to perform basic mathematics for payment calculation.
* Experience in requesting and processing financial payments.
* Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
* Knowledge of charity care programs as well as the various government and non-government programs, is preferred.

This position is represented by SEIU UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
