As a Safety Companion, you'll be the comforting presence that ensures patients feel safe, secure, and supported during their hospital stay. Your mission: Be the guardian of well-being-alert, engaged, and ready to assist when needed. Help patients move safely, whether it's a trip to the bathroom or a walk around the unit. Provide companionship-whether chatting, reading, or sharing a smile, you bring warmth to their day. Keep things professional with accurate documentation and collaboration with the nursing team. Stay dedicated-never leaving their side except on scheduled breaks. (This differential may be adjusted or discontinued based on business requirements.) Responsibilities: * Ensure patient safety and security by staying alert and notifying nursing staff of concerns. * Assist patients with movement and daily activities as appropriate. * Engage patients in activities and provide companionship. * Deliver competent physical and therapeutic care aligned with the role. * Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record. * Provide continuous attendance, coordinating breaks with the RN. * Follow all Safety Companion policies and confidentiality guidelines. Qualifications: * High School/GED * Less than 1 year experience in Patient Observation Attendant (formerly known as sitter) services or equivalent. * BLS required * Preferred: 1+ years experience in direct patient care. * Certified Nursing Assistant, Nurse Tech, or other clinical support staff related to inpatient hospital setting preferred.
