Responsibilities:
Implementation of a wide variety of Cancer Center activities and projects. Provide support for all cancer care activities. Acts as a primary resource for education, personal support, advocacy and problem solving for any patient family member or staff member that requests assistance. Upholds and applies standards established by the American College of Surgeons to ensure continued accreditation as a Community Cancer Center. Utilizes concepts derived from management and communication theory group dynamics and counseling methodologies in creating and facilitating programs and projects assigned by the Program Coordinator. These projects may include a variety of professional and community educational presentations and community events. Supports quality care by participating and supporting utilization review and quality improvement activities. In the absence of the Oncology Program Manager provides leadership and management oversight of the Cancer Center personnel. Due to the nature of the position the duty hours are variable and occasionally include evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications:
Minimum Required
* 6 years clinical Med/Surg Nursing.
* Graduate of an accredited RN program
* Valid California RN license
* CPR BLS from the American Heart Association
* Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with others.
Preferred
* 3 years of recent clinical experience in Oncology.

* In lieu of oncology experience, the following qualifications must be met:
* Obtain ONS Bio/Chemo Certification within 60 days of hire
* Obtain Navigation Certification within 2 years of hire which may include one of the following: a. Oncology Nurse Navigator-Certified Generalist (ONN-CG) b. Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN) c. American Cancer Society
* Leadership in Oncology Navigation (ACS LION)
* Experience with administrative and/or educational nursing role highly desired
* BSN preferred.
* National Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) or obtain OCN certification within 2 years of hire.
* Extensive knowledge of oncology nursing principles.
