				Overview:

Part-Time 16 hrs/week, varied day and evening hours, every third weekend and holiday rotation

North 6 is a fast-paced acute care surgical unit specializing in colorectal and bariatric sleeve procedures, while also providing expert care for patients with diverse medical diagnoses. As a designated Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery, we take pride in delivering top-tier outcomes through innovative practices and a patient-centered approach. Responsibilities:

* Contributes toward accomplishment of patient's plan of care goals by providing mobility activities as assigned by the nurse.
* Assists patients and their families in learning to safely manage personal care while increasing activity, strength, and endurance. 
* Effectively works with the patient and their interdisciplinary care team, reinforcing and promoting therapy/mobility initiatives. 
* Effectively communicates changes in patient condition and functional ability to support an expedited change in the patient's plan of care and prevention of more serious complications.
* Demonstrates the knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: Prior related health care experience preferred

License(s)/Certification(s): 

* Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
* Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire. 
* MOAB (will be obtained during training) 

Level 3: Medium Work:  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
