We are currently hiring for a Part-Time Inpatient Patient Educator (RN)!

What You Can Expect:

* The Patient Educator (RN) will assist with patient & family education, discharge planning support, collaboration with other clinical/non-clinical team members, documentation, etc.
* Schedule: 28 hours per week, Wednesday and Thursday coverage with flexibility on additional days/hours
* Continuing Education: In House continuing education available

Qualifications:

* Education: Nursing Degree
* Experience: 1 years' experience
* Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice and Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications:

* CDCES
* Familiar with Endocrinology 

Responsibilities:

* Teaches and provides support to patients based on the specific needs and learning ability of the patient.
* Coordinate the patient education with other disciplines as it relates to the program specialty.
* Review and update patient teaching materials related to the program specialty.
* May Assist patients with developing skills they need to manage their disease through behavior modification.
* Provides comprehensive education to clients who have self-selected the learning opportunity
* Provides individualized patient teaching and support to patients based on the specific needs and learning ability of the patient.
* Assists in development, implementation, and evaluation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and standards of care.
* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Education: Associates of Nursing Degree/Diploma
* Experience: 0 years's
* Licenses/Certifications: Current RN License in the State of Practice and Current BLS-CPR Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

* Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)
