Overview: Patient Care Technician-Younker 8 Medical/Respiratory- Methodist Part-Time 24 hrs/week Nights 7pm-7:30am, weekend and holiday rotation Benefits Eligible Shift differential for qualifying shifts Younker 8 is a 23 bed Medical Surgical unit that provides an enriching learning experience while caring for patients with a variety of diagnoses specializing in pulmonary conditions. Younker 8 offers opportunities to advance critical thinking skills and nursing autonomy within our multidisciplinary team. Our nursing team has a voice to advocate for change in the nursing profession. Through collaboration with our resident physicians, professional governance council, and nurse residency projects, we utilize evidence based practice to make a difference in our patient care. Consider joining our team to help shape tomorrow. Responsibilities: * PCTs will perform patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN. Provides and documents care including, but not limited to, activities of daily living, mobility, specimen collection and respiratory support activities as directed by the RN. * Possess the ability to lift, move, position and transport patients. * Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule. * Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, patient and employee safety, and customer service. * Team members under the age of 18 may not independently operate mechanical lift equipment. Qualifications: * Must be 16 years old or older. * High School diploma or equivalent preferred * Certified Nursing Aid certification preferred. * Dept of Labor Level III (Medium) Work. Candidates must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment strength and agility test at Medium Level of Work.
