As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will deliver essential direct patient care under the supervision of our clinical team. Leveraging your knowledge of basic patient care principles and medical terminology, you will perform a range of daily duties.
Every day you will actively assist patients with personal care, mobility, and feeding, monitoring vital signs, documenting observations, and maintaining a therapeutic and organized patient environment. You will also work closely with the nursing team to prepare patients for procedures or transport.
To be successful in this role requires a genuine passion for patient well-being, diligence in executing tasks, keen observational skills regarding patient conditions, and a proactive approach to continuous learning and professional development.
* Provide direct patient care as delegated by the RN/LPN: This includes monitoring vital signs, assisting with personal hygiene and physical care, measuring and recording intake and output, obtaining daily weight, performing blood glucose testing, and reporting changes in patient status.
* Operate medical equipment: This includes using automated vital sign machines, oxygen saturation monitors, glucose meters, intercoms, telephones, patient care equipment, scales, lifts, and basic EKG monitoring equipment.
* Perform nursing care and duties as delegated: This may include venipuncture, discontinuing IVs, performing 12-lead EKGs (depending on location), and assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
* Maintain a safe and clean patient environment: This includes performing comfort rounds, keeping hallways clear of obstructions, reporting safety issues and broken equipment, and adhering to patient safety precautions.
* Communicate effectively: This includes communicating with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals in a professional and courteous manner.
* Perform unit housekeeping tasks: This may include cleaning patient rooms, checking and documenting refrigerator temperatures, and updating bed status.

* High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or
* High School GED General Studies, upon hire and
* Good Written/oral Communication Skills
* Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days and
* Certified Nursing Assistant: TN, upon hire or
* Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate: TN, upon hire or
* Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, upon hire or
* Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, upon hire or
* Certified Medical Assistant NHA, upon hire or
* National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT, upon hire or
* National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, upon hire or

* Cert Med Asst - MMCI, upon hire
