Overview: Patent Care Technician-3E Med/ Surg- Iowa Lutheran Hospital Shifts: Nights; Full Time and Part Time Each shift requires every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation Benefits Eligible Shift Differential for qualifying shifts $3,000 Sign On Bonus for qualifying candidates 3 East is a 27-bed Medical Surgical unit that provides an enriching learning experience. Caring for patients with a variety of diagnoses including respiratory, gastroenterology, endocrinology, infectious disease, and stroke. 3 East provides an enriching learning experience and uses innovative care delivery to help provide holistic care to our patients by utilizing advancements in technology partnered with fundamental nursing care. We utilize evidence-based practice to make a difference in our patient care and advance critical thinking skills and nursing autonomy within our multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities: * PCTs will perform patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN. Provides and documents care including, but not limited to, activities of daily living, mobility, specimen collection and respiratory support activities as directed by the RN. * Possess the ability to lift, move, position and transport patients. * Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule. * Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, patient and employee safety, and customer service. * Team members under the age of 18 may not independently operate mechanical lift equipment. Qualifications: License(s)/Certification(s): * CNA certification preferred * Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire. Other: * Must be 16 years old or older * Level 3 Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
