Patient Care Assistant I

As our Patient Care Tech at The Woodlands Hospital, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you'll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients' conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well. You know we're all continuously trying to become better care providers, and you're eager to learn. 

St. Lukes Health-The Vintage Hospital provides high-quality compassionate care for residents of the Willowbrook Champions and Tomball areas of Northwest Houston. With the resources of the St. Luke's Health system we are able to deliver the most advanced care available to our Northwest Houston community. The Vintage Hospital offers the latest in diagnostic and surgical expertise including heart care women's health and orthopedics.

We want our patients to be as comfortable as possible and believe that starts with basic patient care. Our Patient Care Assistants are an important part of the care team - treating each patient's individual needs, document care, and support our clinical teams.

Responsibilities:

* Provide a variety of routine tasks and direct patient care to support our patients and our clinical teams. 
* Answer call lights and unit phone to assist with questions and concerns from patients and family members.   
* Communicate, monitor and document pertinent patient information 
* Assist with admission, transfers, transporting, lifting, and discharge of patients
* Make rounds and respond promptly to patients, families, and clinical team requests
* Work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse and multi-cultural environment

Qualifications:

Education:

High School Diploma/GED 

Basic Life Support (BLS) 

Minimum Experience:

None
