				Overview:

Complex clerical position involving multiple tasks and functions. Responsible for the accuracy and completion of patient registration based on departmental and organizational policies and procedures. Also responsible for scheduling appointments, tests, procedures and referrals for patients. Answers phone calls and communicates with other health care facilities and providers. Facilitates the flow of patient information across the continuum of care. Prioritizes multiple requests for assistance from patients, staff and physicians. Performs duties necessary to ensure all accounts are processed accurately and efficiently.

Qualifications:

* Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Or equivalent required; advanced education at technical or secretarial school preferred. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
* Experience: One year Business office experience in health care/insurance setting with computer knowledge and data entry skills, required. Spanish speaking skills, preferred.
* Licensure/Certification: Certification as Certified Patient Access Technician (CPAT) or Certified Health Access Associate (CHAA), preferred.
* Additional Skills (required): Demonstrates standards of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence.
