At St. Luke's, our dedicated team of Patient Access Specialists strive to build a positive, supportive, and inclusive culture that delivers exceptional patient experiences. Connect serves as a healthcare contact call center, centrally situated in downtown Boise. As the primary gateway to our patients' healthcare journey, we play a crucial role in facilitating their experiences.

Shift Details:

* Variable schedule between 8 to 32 hours every two weeks. 
* Must be available for morning, days, evenings, and weekend coverage. Our ideal candidate has open availability. 
* This is a role that will help cover where support is needed including covering for planned PTO and potentially on-call scenarios.

What You Can Expect:

* Deliver customer service by handling registration, scheduling, referrals, and inquiries for patients, providers, and the public.
* Ensure clear, professional communication, addressing both verbal and written interactions.
* Explain financial options, insurance coverage, and organization policies to support payment processes.
* Utilize technology and tools to efficiently manage departmental workflows.
* Support after-hours scheduling and urgent inquiries for Treasure Valley Switchboard, Language Services, and Children's Services.
*  Flex positions are not benefits eligible

* You have to be available to train full time for the first 4 to 6 weeks.  

Responsibilities:

The Patient Access Specialist 1 is responsible for responding to patient, provider, and department/service area needs with a high emphasis on customer service and accuracy. This includes, but is not limited to, registration, scheduling, referral coordination, and general inquiries from patients, providers and the general public.

* Supports an exceptional experience through all customer interactions, ensuring professional, timely and accurate communication
* both verbally and in writing. 

* Supports a perspective payment program by communicating organization policies, financial options, explaining insurance coverage/non-coverage. 

* Utilize a variety of technology, tools, and resources to support departmental workflows. 

* Performs one of the following workflows with attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency: 

* Call front lining 

* Patient Registration 

* Scheduling

* Performs other duties as assigned.
