				Overview:

At St. Luke's, our dedicated team of Patient Access Specialists strive to build a positive, supportive, and inclusive culture that delivers exceptional patient experiences. 

This customer service position is often the first person a patient encounters when entering the St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center. This important role supports exceptional interactions to ensure professional, timely and accurate written and verbal communication with both patients and caregivers (both in person and by phone). 

Wage: ~$18.50-$24 (depending on experience) 

What you can expect from this role:

* Registration, scheduling, and referral coordination for patients
* Discussions on financial options and/or explanations of insurance coverage, including authorizations, verifications, and estimates
* Use a variety of technologies, tools and resources to support departmental workflows
* Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications for this Role: 

* Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
* Experience: 1 year relevant experience 

Responsibilities:

* Supports an exceptional experience through all customer interactions, ensuring professional, timely and accurate communication- both verbally and in writing.
* Supports a perspective payment program by communicating organization policies, financial options, explaining insurance coverage/non-coverage.
* Utilize a variety of technology, tools, and resources to support departmental workflows.
* Performs one of the following workflows with attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency:
* - Call front lining
* - Patient Registration
* - Scheduling

Qualifications:

* Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
* Experience: 1 year relevant experience
