As "the champion of first impressions" our valued Patient Access professionals are key contributors to the overall patient experience. At CommonSpirit Mountain Region, you will maximize your talent for organization, operations, customer service and have plenty of opportunity to lead and guide change. You'll be seen as a valued resource as you collaborate with administration, management, physicians, and other staff members to support our patients, visitors and other customers.

Create a positive impression for each patient, family member, visitor or staff while performing the tasks of pre-admitting, admitting and/or registering, routing or escorting patients, family, or visitors, answering phones, directs requests for information, answers routine operational questions, data entry, and professional staff assistance. This position will verify patient demographic and financial information required to complete the admission/registration and record this information in the electronic health record system. This position will verify insurance benefits; explain financial requirements to the patient or patient representative and collect the outstanding patient portion prior to or at the point of service. Maintains paperwork flow of the office, while keeping work environment organized. Will serve as a mentor to new associates and assist in new employee orientation. Utilizes scheduling and registration information to 
verify coverage and authorization for all scheduled procedures. After verification of benefits and authorization, populate price estimate tool to decide patient portion. Makes calls to patients, doctor's offices, and hospital departments to gather sufficient information to obtain authorization and benefits collection of patient portion. Acts as a liaison between the patients, physicians, patient clinics, case management, centralized billing office, third party Medicaid eligibility vendor and community agencies. 
Provide clerical/office support for the facility including, but not limited to reception, registration, pre registration, phone calls, scheduling, insurance verification, computer data entry, retrieval of medical and demographic information from internal and external sources. Provides the best service possible to all customers/patients. This position will have the ability to flex to and from all Patient Access site locations that are in need and provide support to all Patient Access areas. 80% in person 20% remote

Qualifications:

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

* HS Diploma/GED Required
* One year preivous Patient scheduling or Patient Access experience, preferred.
* Office experience in a healthcare environment, medical terminology, knowledge of CPT/ICD-9 codes, preferred.
* Ability to multitask and prioritization skils.

Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 
lbs. constantly
