Overview:
Take responsibility of daily pastry production for the hotel, including banquets and restaurant operations.
Responsibilities:
* Must be able prepare icing, pie fillings, custards and other desserts
* Must be familiar with a variety of pastry cooking techniques.
* Must be experienced with batch / quantity cooking
* Prepare items according to standard recipes or as specified
* Check and control the proper storage of product, monitor condition of all food items, rotating and maintaining the highest quality.
* Maintain high quality and appearance of all pastry items
* Ability to decorate with sugars and icing
* Assist in other areas of the Kitchen when needed, including preparing hot and cold items outside of pastry with the assistance of chef and team members
Qualifications:
* Must be 18 years of age.
* Ability to work independently and work as a team.
* Ability to multi task.
* Must maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
* Previous pastry experience required.
* Must be able to stand / walk for the entire duration of the shift.
* Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
* Must be open to working weekends and holidays.
* Must be open working to business demand with no set days off.
