CHI Saint Joseph is looking for a Pain Management Physician to operate out of Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown, KY. The Pain Management Physician performs comprehensive patient evaluation, pain management plan development, performing procedures like nerve blocks, spinal injections, and managing medication regimens while closely monitoring patient response and safety throughout treatment.

Responsibilities:

* Pain Management Plan Development:
* Create personalized pain management plans tailored to each patient's needs, considering potential treatment options like medication management, physical therapy, and interventional procedures.

* Interventional Procedures:
* Perform a variety of interventional pain management procedures including nerve blocks (epidural, facet joint, peripheral nerve), spinal injections, radiofrequency ablation, and other minimally invasive techniques.

* Medication Management:
* Prescribe and monitor pain medications, including opioid management with a focus on safe and responsible prescribing practices.

* Patient Education:
* Educate patients on their pain condition, treatment options, pain management strategies, and lifestyle modifications to optimize pain management.

* Collaboration with Other Healthcare Professionals:

* Work closely with other healthcare providers like physical therapists, psychologists, and primary care physicians to coordinate comprehensive patient care. 

* Clinical Documentation:

* Maintain detailed medical records, including patient assessments, treatment plans, procedural notes, and medication administration documentation. 

Qualifications:

* KY State Licensure
* Certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology
* Active KY DEA
* Expertise in administering various anesthetic techniques, including regional anesthesia, as well as proficiency in performing interventional pain management procedures
* Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals
