Responsibilities: The Pipefitter performs rearrangement, alterations, repairs, and construction activities on steam, water, gas, oil, air and chemical piping systems and accessories. This position is located at the Michoud Assembly Facility, LA. Work Model: On-site Qualifications: Essential Duties & Job Functions: * Installs, assembles, repairs and maintains plumbing lines, systems and accessories. * Determines routing and location of lines, accessories, and equipment. * Uses blueprints, sketches and work orders and adheres to trade practices and plumbing codes. * Makes proper connection be sweating, leading, screwing or bolting joints. * Computes kind, size and amount of pipe connections and other materials when necessary. * Installs and test hydraulic, compressed air, fire sprinkling, steam and other pressure systems. * Installs and test sanitary plumbing fixtures. * Performs functional tests to assure proper installations and system operations. * Performs trouble shooting in major breakdowns, diagnosing trouble and taking corrective action. * Performs all tasks incidental to the work.
