Overview:
The supervisor is responsible for assisting the Manager in providing overall leadership and direction for the OR department and for creating an environment that fosters a multidisciplinary team and collaborate approach to care that achieves operations evidence based on clinical "Best Practice." This position will assist in developing and maintain a continuous Quality Improvement program in
the department with the Manger and Director. The supervisor will actively address and resolve incident reports as assigned by the Manager. Participates with the Manager for creating and overseeing the department schedule to include on-call, time off request, and the day to day running of the department.
Position Reports To: Surgical Services Manager
Responsibilities:
* Participates with the Manager and Director to create and implement an operational budget annually monitoring performance monthly.
* This position is responsible for leading, coaching, mentoring and modeling Service Excellence behaviors to Charge Nurses and staff.
* The Supervisor assumes accountability to peers and functions as a strong team player in caring for patients.
* The supervisor assesses needs and patient expectations, delivers "Best Practice" to each patient under his/her care, and collaborates with other team caregivers to achieve patient satisfaction, set and exceed patient expectations.
* Oversees the day-to-day operations of the department: creating work schedules, including on-call and time off request.
* Performs HR functions in conjunction with the Manager to include evaluations, counseling, disciplinary actions and staff monitoring.
* Works collaboratively with physician and other department leaders to develop methods for improving the quality of overall care.
* Responsible with the Manager for hiring and overseeing orientation of new employees.
* This position will also address standards of perioperative practice for the non CWH employees (travelers) who will work in the perioperative environment.

Qualifications:
Required:
* Current licensure in the state of Washington (RCW 18.88) or licensure through Multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (SSB 5499).
* Four years relevant experience, two of which must be leadership.
* Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certiication.
Desired:
* Previous OR experience.
* Certified Perioperative Nurse, CNOR .
* Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business or related field.
