Overview:
Provides primary and appropriate specialized health care services to hospital and clinic patients. Performs examinations and provides treatment to minor/routine problems; performs or orders diagnostic test; establishes diagnosis; prescribes medication; instructs patients and family members about continuing care.
Position Reports To: Practice Manager
Responsibilities:
* Provide primary and specialized health care to patients. Examination, diagnosis, and treatment of both chronic and acute episodic illnesses and minor injuries. Refers to physician as needed.
* Writes prescriptions and performs office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment.
* Educates patients and families and helps them understand issues related to physical and emotional health.
* Participates in health promotional activities.
* Participates in decisions, planning, and policies related to clinical care.
* Maintains accurate and complete patient records in compliance with organizational policy.
* Refers patients to specialty services when appropriate.
* Provides professional medical services within the scope of training and responsibility, in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and organizational policies.
* Support physicians with on-call responsibilities as required.
* Records statistics and conducts research as deemed necessary.
* Collaborates with staff and physicians to identify patient's needs and help develop plan to meet those needs.
* Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
* Active Physician Assistant licensure with prescriptive authority in the state of Washington, required by start date.
