Responsibilities:

* Lead quarterly and ad-hoc patching of Oracle databases (12c-19c+), including CPU/PSU updates.
* Manage full-stack patching of Oracle Exadata using tools like `patchmgr`, `dbcli`, and `dbaascli`.
* Coordinate rolling patch deployments to minimize downtime and maintain high availability.
* Maintain patch compliance documentation and support audit readiness.
* Administer and optimize Oracle Exadata Database Machines (compute nodes, storage cells, InfiniBand).
* Monitor Smart Scan, Hybrid Columnar Compression, and IORM for performance tuning.
* Architect and maintain RAC, ASM, and Data Guard configurations.
* Perform advanced performance tuning using AWR, ADDM, and SQL tuning tools.
* Design and implement RMAN-based backup and disaster recovery strategies.
* Automate patching and maintenance tasks using Shell, Python, or Ansible.
* Integrate with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for proactive monitoring and alerting.
* Apply security patches promptly and enforce database hardening standards.
* Implement TDE, auditing, and encryption policies to support compliance.
* Partner with infrastructure, application, and security teams.
* Mentor junior DBAs and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

* 10+ years of Oracle DBA experience in enterprise environments.
* 3+ years of direct experience with Oracle Exadata administration and patching.
* Deep understanding of Oracle patching cycles, tools, and best practices.
* Strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, etc.).
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
* Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Exadata certification.
* Experience with hybrid cloud deployments (OCI, AWS, Azure).
* Familiarity with security tools like AVDF, TDE, and audit frameworks.
