Overview: At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy, our focus is patient-centered care. Our level I trauma center and academic medical center campus is designed to heal the body, mind, and spirit of every person in a more comfortable, less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services includes trauma services, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging. Responsibilities: As an Operating Engineer, you will independently perform journeyman-level duties, responsible for daily operational issues concerning the energy plant, hospital, and associated equipment/systems. Every day, you will design, construct, install, or maintain building systems and equipment, ensuring safety, functionality, efficiency, and occupant comfort. You will also monitor equipment/system problems and recommend solutions for optimal facility performance. Success in this role requires extensive technical expertise, a strong commitment to safety and efficiency, excellent problem-solving, and autonomous work with high operational standards. * Operates high-pressure boilers. * Operates chillers and absorbers. * Compiles water treatment reports. * Performs maintenance on boilers, chillers, pumps, steam pipes, and related machinery. * Operates automated building control computer and makes corrections as required. * Operates/adjusts air handling equipment. **Night Shift Incentive** Qualifications: Required * Two years' experience with boiler operation. and * Other Steam plant third grade engineers course (NAPE) * Third Grade Station Engineer: NE, upon hire Preferred * High School GED General Studies, upon hire or * High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire and * First Grade Station Engineer: NE, upon hire or * Second Grade Engineer: NE, upon hire or
