Qualifications:

* Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 1-5 years' experience with ODS obtained prior to 2010, required.
* 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. 1-2 years' experience with ODS, required.

* Experience: 1-5 years with HS/GED. Experience in Cancer Registry, Medical Records, Nursing, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Public Health, Research, required.
* 1-2 years with Associate. Experience in Cancer Registry, Medical Records, Nursing, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Public Health, Research, required.

* Licensure/Certification: CTR, required.
* Additional Skills (required):
* Advanced level of medical terminology.
* Completion of Anatomy and Physiology.
* Basic Statistics and Epidemiology.
* Oncology knowledge of the disease process, including standards of care; surgical, radiation, and systemic treatment regimens.
* Knowledge of the American College of Surgeons Cancer Program Standards. Coding Courses in ICD0-3, AJCC TNM Staging, SEER Summary Staging, Solid Tumor Rules and relevant state data collection manuals.
* Ability to communicate effectively with tact and diplomacy wit Medical Staff, Novant Departments, private physician practices, and non-Novant facilities to obtain patient information resolve staging or coding issues.

* Additional Skills (preferred): Experience with Electronic Registry Systems Inc. registry software, Epic, Webplus (NC Data Reporting portal), QPort (Commission on Cancer quality portal); working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
