Overview:
The City Council serves as a link between the citizens of Boston and their municipal government. Councilors assist constituents by connecting them to resources, services, and City departments, while advocating for all Bostonians. The 13 councilors are responsible for creating, passing, and amending local laws, as well as approving the City's budget each year.
Responsibilities:
- Answer phones and emails in response to constituent service inquiries and work with the appropriate neighborhood liaison to find solutions.
- Assist with city council and office administration tasks, including managing citations, reviewing newsletters, entering data, filing, and other administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to work as part of a team.
- Self-motivated problem-solver with the ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Adaptable in fast-paced and constantly changing environments.
- Commitment to serving the community.
- Bilingual candidates preferred, but not required.
