James T. Shott & Associates, insurance staff counsel for State Farm Insurance Companies, is hiring an Office Manager with management and/or supervisory experience and effective communication skills to join our Costa Mesa, California Claim Litigation office. While every day can provide different experiences and opportunities, the role involves managing the daily business operations of our Costa Mesa Litigation office. The office allows for collaborative environments with access to peer mentors. State Farm creates an environment inclusive of career development opportunities. The position is classified as a hybrid role, meaning that the work arrangement calls for hours in the office and virtually. Everyone in a hybrid role is required to spend time in the office. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs. LOCATION: 611 Anton Boulevard Suite 900, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

* Staffs, supervises, and trains Claim Litigation Counsel (CLC) support level employees
* Manages the daily administrative operations of a CLC office or virtual team
* Develops, integrates, and implements work procedures used within a CLC office 
* Conducts and is responsible for performance and salary reviews of support staff
* Performs other responsibilities as defined by the CLC Managing Attorney, Supervising Attorney, or Director

Qualifications:

* Previous experience required
* Law office managerial experience preferred 
* Leadership experience preferred 

* Key Skills Required
* Experience and/or knowledge of the civil litigation process along with legal support functions and duties is preferred
* Familiarity with budgets, performance management, and operational management of facilities 

* Technology/software experience required
* Strong IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel)
* Ability to work efficiently with cases in electronic form
* Working knowledge of a Case Management system
* Working Knowledge of a Document Storage system
