Job Summary:
Under the general guidance of the Physical Therapy Department Manager has a wide range of freedom in applying individual professional judgment discretion and skill in patient management. Administers patient evaluations plans and implements patient treatment proficiently for all assigned patient diagnoses. Supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants in performance of clinical duties. Demonstrates exceptional time management skills in performing all assigned tasks. Demonstrates sound judgment in clinical decision making. Assignments are dependent on the specific experience training and demonstrated competence of the therapist and the needs of the patients. Assists in supervising training and orienting new staff. This position treats/cares for patients of all ages.

Qualifications:
NEW GRADUATES ACCEPTED
Minimum:
* Graduate of an approved school of Occupational Therapy holding Baccalaureate Degree or higher
* Must be a Registered Occupational Therapist through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
* Must have a valid license from the California Board of Occupational Therapy
* A valid BLS for Healthcare Provider certification approved by the American Heart Association
* A thorough knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and diagnostic tests for evaluation purposes for inpatient and outpatient populations of all ages
* Able to complete a thorough evaluation including history objective findings goals justification for medical necessity and a plan of care.
* Able to perform heavy physical tasks in working directly with patients
* Ability to be flexible in making changes in work routine Ability to complete equitable caseload under pressure
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and general computer systems for electronic documentation and reports
Preferred:
* Experience in an acute care hospital rehabilitation center and outpatient setting is preferred
* Membership in the AOTA is encouraged
