				Overview:

Shift: Full-time, Days, Monday - Friday, for 80 hours per pay period. There is a holiday and weekend rotation. 

The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for all aspects of occupational therapy service delivery and is accountable for safety and effectiveness of the occupational therapy service delivery process. The OT will work with their client/family/caregivers to promote client participation in their everyday life occupations, specific to their age, context and life situation. The Occupational Therapist will use their knowledge and skills, including therapeutic use of self, to help clients conduct or resume daily life occupations that support function and health throughout the lifespan. The focus is on occupations that are meaningful to the client involving emotional, psychosocial, cognitive and physical aspects of performance in occupation. The Occupational Therapist is responsible to practice in accordance with the scope of the profession, the State Practice Act, Licensure and policies of UnityPoint Health. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for accurate documentation and billing as well as maintaining communication with referring providers, the care team and teammates, as ethically appropriate, to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care best suited for the environment in which care is provided. (ie: acute hospital, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, in the home, etc.).

Responsibilities:

* Evaluate, plan, and implement individualized OT treatment plans for inpatient populations

* Assist patients in regaining functional independence in activities of daily living (ADLs)

* Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques and home safety

* Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes

* Document patient progress accurately and comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards

Qualifications:

Education: 

* Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree

Certification/License: 

* Active, Occupational Therapist license issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health
* Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within three (3) months from date of hire
