Position: Occupational Therapist - Inpatient Acute Care

Location: Carroll Hospital in Westminster, MD

Schedule: 40-hour work week with weekend and holiday rotations

Compensation: $82,000 - $95,000

Carroll Hospital in Westminster, Maryland, is part of the NovaCare/LifeBridge Health family. This 153-bed inpatient hospital is seeking a full-time occupational therapist. This is a 40-hour workweek, including a weekend and a holiday rotation. New graduate occupational therapists are welcome to apply. We have an on-site mentorship available. Our large, multidisciplinary team is seeking a dynamic clinician passionate about serving diverse communities.

We provide advanced treatment and comprehensive care to best address the medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges for individuals with:

* Brain Injury
* Spinal Cord Injury
* Stroke
* Amputation
* Neurological Disorders
* Orthopedic Conditions
* Multiple Traumas

Position Summary

Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patient's needs and physician direction. Responsible for the delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. Ensures the design of functional treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community activities. Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers, and self. Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services, and design of program delivery.

Responsibilities:

* Best Practices: Stay current and up to date with Occupational Therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
* Build Relationships: Enhance, develop and expand relationships with referral sources and maintain a positive level of interaction with centers and patients.
* Collaborative Approach: Develop objective patient goals and establish the type, frequency and duration of occupational therapy in collaboration with the referring physician.
* High Standard of Care: Understand appropriate state Practice Act and adhere to the laws that govern how OTs may practice and whom they may supervise.
* Innovative Opportunities: Participate in the design and implementation of new programs or procedures with the approval of the manager and referring physicians per HIPPA guidelines.
* Leadership: Supervise and delegate occupational therapy care for each patient within the guidelines of state rules and federal regulations.
* Personalized Treatment: Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment programs and demonstrate completion of patient care responsibilities and documentation requirements in an appropriate and timely manner.

Qualifications:

* Graduate of an accredited school for occupational therapy
* State Occupational Therapist license (or license eligible)
* CPR certification
* Valid state driver's license
