				Overview:

St. Luke's Health System in Boise is seeking an Occupational Health/Safety Specialist to join our collaborative and fun team. In this key role, you will coordinate care plans and return-to-work processes while supporting the health and safety needs of our employer partners. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth, supportive, and service-focused experience for patients, employers, and care providers.

What to Expect

*  Coordinate patient care plans, return-to-work processes, physical exams, and medical clearances in partnership with employers.

*  Schedule and manage appointments for the Occupational Health and Concussion Clinic, including obtaining insurance authorizations and provider approvals.

*  Serve as a primary point of contact for patients, employers, third-party payers, and external partners; handle inquiries and resolve issues via phone, email, and in person.

*  Part-time position with a dedicated schedule: Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

*  Support hearing conservation and on-site occupational health services in compliance with OSHA and employer-specific requirements.

*  Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

*  Education: High school diploma or equivalent

*  Experience: No previous experience required

*  Licenses/Certifications: None required

Preferred Qualifications

*  Experience in customer service within a healthcare or professional office setting

*  Familiarity with MROA (Medical Review Officer Assistant) responsibilities

*  Strong computer and scheduling skills; Epic experience a plus

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the coordination and facilitation of activities that support case management, rehab, employment services and return to work principles and processes.

* Facilitates patient care plan using case management and return to work principles and processes. 

* Functions as a single point contact for patient, employer client, payer and external care partners. 

* Serves as coordinator of the internal patient care provider team. 

* Answers patients/employer questions (or coordinate appropriately) about facility, procedures, etc. by means of phone, email or personal interaction, with ability to effectively recognize and take appropriate action based upon the situation. 

* Understands requirements for each insurance company, including third party payers and business guarantors, and obtain authorizations needed. 

* Schedules a variety of appointments in coordination with customer, patient, department and provider schedules. 

* Coordinates components of the physical exams/medical clearance requested by employers, including collection of necessary documents, staff updates and provider approval. 

* Resource for complex customer service questions. Coordinates with other departments to ensure prompt customer service. 

* Actively participate in Teamwork Board and all other staff meetings. 

* May be responsible for the hearing conservation services provided to employers and perform on-site hearing tests or other health/safety tasks within a defined employer program in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. 

* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
