Join our team as an OB Tech! As an OB Tech on our team, you will assist in smooth daily operations of the Labor & Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum unit. May perform direct and indirect patient care including vitals, hygiene measures, and basic care for antepartum, postpartum and newborn patients.
OB Techs functions include:
* Assists with vaginal deliveries under the direction of a Registered Nurse and provider and within scope of practice.
* Functions as a Scrub Tech for surgical procedures.
* Maintains supplies and equipment on the unit.
* Assists with maintenance of Point of Care Testing and High Level Disinfection equipment.
* Performs clerical and business support tasks as assigned.
* Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.
**Previous Scrub experience required**
Day to Day:
* Scrubbing on C-Sections (emergent/ Scheduled), D&C's, emergency hysterectomies, and assisting w/vaginal deliveries.
* Providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed.
* Maintaining Sterile field during procedures.
* Functioning in a secretarial role when there isn't coverage.
* Assisting with room turnover and restocking for next day's cases.
* Answering call lights and doors, making charts, patient check in and rooming, arriving/discharging patients in EPIC.
15 LDRP Beds, 3 Triage Rooms, 2 OR Suites, 7 NICU Rooms
80-120 births per month
Schedule: PRN- Variable shifts per surgical Volume and current unit needs.
PRN Policy requires candidates be available for a min of 5 shifts in a six week schedule block
No Call.
15% PRN differential added to base rate!!
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
* One-year patient care experience preferred, i.e. OB Tech, LPN/LVN, EMT, CNA,
* Medical Assistant or Surgical Tech experience
* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English Basic computer skills
* High School graduate or GED
* Completion of a Surgical Tech program, preferred
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
* Colorado Surgical Assistant License or Surgical Technician upon hire unless performing Surgical Assistant duties within the scope of another active Colorado license, certification, or registration (required for Colorado employed staff only)
Physical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
