Overview: The Labor and Delivery department at St. Francis Hospital, an established Magnet(r) hospital, is a unit with ten high-risk antepartum beds and 12 LDR suites, with 250 deliveries per month. We have two ORs, a three-bay PACU and a seven- bed OB Emergency Department. Our department has a mission to ensure the families of Southern Colorado have the safest care while delivering their babies. We offer self-scheduling and great teamwork. As an OB Surgical Tech you will: * Assist in smooth daily operations of the Labor & Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum unit. * Assist with vaginal deliveries under the direction of a Registered Nurse and provider and within scope of practice. * Function as a Scrub Tech for surgical procedures. * Maintain supplies and equipment on the unit. * Assist with maintenance of Point of Care Testing and High Level Disinfection equipment. * Perform clerical and business support tasks as assigned. * Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values. The schedule is 0600-1830 varied days, weekends and call is required. Qualifications: In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: * Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) * High School graduate or GED * Completion of a Surgical Tech program * Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association * Current Colorado Surgical Technologist Registration for associates working in Colorado * One-year surgical tech experience preferred * Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English * Basic computer skills Physical Requirements Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
