				Overview:

Provides direct patient care and related support. 

Responsibilities:

* Provides Routine Personal Care To Patients In A Timely, Safe And Effective Manner. Care May Include Bathing, Brushing Teeth, Dressing Patients And Attending To And All Of Their Personal Care Needs
* Prepares Patients For Meals, Feeds And/Or Assists With Feeding As Necessary
* Empties Bedpans And Collects Urine And Other Specimens
* Transfers Patients To And From Bed And/Or Chair Via One-Person Transfer, Two-Person Transfer, And Use Of A Hoyer Lift
* Takes Accurate Vital Signs Temperatures, Blood Pressures, Pulse, And Respiration
* Records All Necessary Information According To Policy And Procedure
* Assists Patients In Walking And In Transporting Patients By Means Of Wheel Chair Or Stretcher
* Performs ROM Using Proper Technique
* Performs other related duties

Qualifications:

Education:

* High School Diploma or equivalent required. 

Experience:

* No prior experience required, some preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

* Ability to read, write, and speak English. 

* Good interpersonal skills.

* Attend ongoing educational programs to include at least 6 hours of in-service education every 6 months.

* Basic ability to fully utilize KJMC's electronic record systems, equipment and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.

* Practice safety rules at all times to prevent accidents, i.e., applies bed rails and keeps rooms in order. 

Licenses, Certifications:

* New York State Certification as a Nursing Attendant.

Physical Requirements:

* Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day.
*  Position will be required to stoops, bends, lifts, carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
