Overview:
Presbyterian is seeking a Nurse Tech, where you'll monitor patients, document vital signs, and assist with sterile procedures like surgery prep and oxygen administration. Your role includes aiding in daily activities such as feeding, bathing, and walking patients, while operating monitoring systems. You'll support patient nutrition, maintain cleanliness, perform wound care, and transport patients and specimens within the facility. Additionally, you'll handle clerical tasks, stock supplies, and ensure effective shift change communication.

Type of Opportunity: Full Time (0.9 FTE/36 hours per week)
Work Schedule: 12 Hour Nights

This position is eligible for the Northern New Mexico differential of $4.00 per hour. (This differential may be adjusted or discontinued based on business requirements.)
Responsibilities:
* Monitors patients, records vital signs, and documents information in patient records
* Assists nurses and physicians with sterile procedures and patient care
* Performs tasks such as phlebotomy, wound care, dressing changes, and patient preparation for surgery
* Operates monitoring systems specific to unit needs, including cardiac and fetal heart monitoring
* Supports patient nutritional needs by delivering trays, assisting with meals, and recording consumption
* Ensures cleanliness of unit, including stocking supplies, emptying waste containers, and cleaning equipment
* Transports specimens, x-rays, blood, and patient nourishment
* Performs clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, and copying
* Assists with patient hygiene, oxygen setup, and storage of equipment
* Communicates important information at shift changes and maintains equipment logs
* Organizes and contributes to team-based care and overall quality of service
* Performs additional functions as required
Qualifications:
* High school or equivalent plus specialized, short-term training in medical / surgical patient care or the delivery of special care.
* One to three years experience preferred.
* CNA preferred
