The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for performing direct psychiatric services and may provide psychiatric consultation with other mental health center staff within their recognized nursing specialty and patient populations. These services may be provided on site, at satellite offices, via telemedicine, or through consultation contracts.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct services through comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment of patients assigned on an outpatient basis.
Prescribe and review medications as necessary for consumers following current standards of care.
Serve as liaison for Abbe with community physicians, hospital staff, and other professionals and agencies with regard to psychiatric services.
Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.
Qualifications:
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
Experience in the practice of psychiatry in outpatient settings. Experience with Medication Assisted Treatment or working with substance use disorders, preferred
Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Holds a current license as a registered nurse and is registered with the Iowa Board of Nursing at the advanced level
Registered with the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency and the Iowa Board of Pharmacy examiners.
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
