Responsibilities:

Day Full Time PACU Registered Nurse

We are a 12 bed PACU of a level 2 trauma facility. The PACU department recovers patients from our inpatient and outpatient services, ranging from general surgery, bariatric, orthopedics, and pediatric services. We recover and discharge patients to include educating families and patients. Our unit is a fast paced environment designed to support up to 10 working OR's 24 hours a day. 

Job Summary:

The incumbent is defined as a professional who provides and supervises care to individuals and families. The PACU registered nurse provides patient and family care based on the nursing process and consistently provides a safe and confidential environment post surgical intervention. As a professional, the PACU registered nurse is responsible for providing leadership and maintaining personal professional development.

Qualifications:

Minimum: 

* At least 1 year experience as a PACU Registered Nurse in a post anesthesia care unit or in an ICU/ED setting
* Current California RN License
* Current BLS, ACLS and PALS from the American Heart Association
* Other certifications may be required
* Weekends and Call required

Preferred: 

* Skills related to laboratory and x-ray order entry and online documentation preferred
