Responsibilities:

* Transports patients to scanning room; prepares and maintains rooms. Explains procedure to patients.
* Administers isotope dosage accurately following established departmental procedures; accurately records dosage administered. Observe patient during procedure and report any unusual occurrences to appropriate personnel.

* Schedules Nuclear Medicine exams to coordinate with other patient exams.
* Performs Nuclear Medicine studies; determines appropriate isotope required; obtains patient history and reviews patient condition.
* Maintains gamma cameras and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs quality control on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service for major malfunctions.
* Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Uses Radiology Information System, hospital information systems as required.
* Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.
* Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, workshops, current literature, inservices and/or seminars. Attends meetings as required or requested.
* Takes call for Nuclear Medicine procedures.

Qualifications:

* Associate Degree
* NM Nuclear Medicine Tech
* Requires Completion of ARRT (N) or NMTCB Certification within 6 months after graduation. 
* Candidates who are selected for the position must sign an agreement to obtain this credential.

* BLS required at time of hire.
