Sarah C. Varghese & Associates is a mid-sized No-Fault defense firm serving as staff counsel and are employees of the Law Department of State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company. We are seeking a No-Fault Legal Secretary to join our Jericho, NY office. While every day can provide different experiences and opportunities, a typical day as a Legal Secretary involves supporting attorneys with arbitration submissions, answers and motions, and e-filing with New York electronic filing system. The office allows for collaborative environments with access to peer mentors. This role provides diversity of work and the opportunity for development/advancement. This role will interact with clients, courts, and counsel throughout the litigation process on behalf of the attorney. The position is classified as a hybrid role, meaning that the work arrangement calls for hours in the office and virtually. Everyone in a hybrid role is required to spend time in the office. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs. Hours for the position are Monday-Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
* Apply specialized knowledge of legal procedures
* Preparing arbitration submissions, answers and motions, electronic/paper filing
Qualifications:
Previous experience preferred
* 3+ years of No-Fault defense of personal injury experience is preferred
Key Skills required
* Experience preparing Arbitration Submissions, Answers and Motions
* Experience with AAA Arbitrations and New York E-filing procedures and redaction
* Strong organizational skills, prioritizing urgent and non-urgent tasks (items with deadlines, handling demands), multitasking
* E-filing experience
* Ability to adapt to a corporate law environment
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Strong written and oral communication skills (proofreading, attention to detail, formatting)
* Accurate typing skills
Technology/software experience required
* Working knowledge of the electronic filing system for the State of New York
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
* Working knowledge of Case Management system
* Working knowledge of Document Storage system
