Virginia Mason Francisan Health (VMFH) is fulfilling our vision of transforming healthcare by expanding our collaborative care team. We have an opportunity for a 1.0 FTE Neurohospitalist physician in desirable Seattle, Washington. 

Responsibilities:

Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington is actively recruiting a full-time (1.0FTE) Neurohospitalist to join a growing inpatient team dedicated to serving the needs of patients with acute neurological disease. We are a leading certified Comprehensive Stroke Center. Virginia Mason has been providing stroke care since 2011 and currently treats more than 350+ patients per year. Our Neurohospitalists are part of a robust team of Neurosurgeons, Endovascular Neurosurgeons, Neuro-Interventional Radiologists, Intensivists, Hospitalists, Respiratory Therapists and Neurologists providing patients access to the latest in cutting-edge intracranial and endovascular therapy. 

Practice highlights

* Our team consists of 4 other Neurohospitalist physicians.  We work a block schedule which includes both day and night shifts (12 hours)
* Our ICU has 29 beds and is a closed unit.
* Supportive team, including neuro-trained advanced providers, clinical nurse specialists, stroke coordination and dedicated care management.  
* VMMC has achieved AHA Get With The Guidelines Gold Plus certification as well as Target Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus, Advanced Therapy and Target Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll.  
* Complete neuroscience institute within the Virginia Mason system; providing treatments from surgery to rehabilitation. 
* Personalized patient care, including 1:1 nursing support for acute stroke patients.
* Growing ambulatory, in-patient, tele-neurology and tele-stroke program serving as the hub to two hospitals in the region.
* Nurse driven code stroke process and rapid response. 
* Physician employed hospital and medical center where collaboration and new ideas are encouraged.
* Opportunity to practice many facets of Neurology and see a wide spectrum of neurological disorders, including stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (AlS), seizure disorders, tumors of the brain and spinal cord, movement disorders, and migraine management.

Qualifications:

* BE/BC in Neurology
* Stroke fellowship training preferred
* Able to obtain a medical professional license in the State of WA
* Able to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice
* BLS required
