Responsibilities:
As our Neuro Critical Care Physician, you will help expand an integrated Neuro ICU service at Penrose Hospital so they can provide high-value, top-quality neurocritical care to patients in Colorado Springs and surrounding rural communities.
Every day you will provide expert neurocritical care and lead stroke alert responses within the ICU setting. You will be expected to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, perform post-cardiac arrest neuroprognostication, and contribute to the establishment of a new integrated consultative Neuro ICU service.
To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong neurology background, including experience with stroke and neuro trauma volume in an ICU setting, and adhere to the highest standards of medical ethics.
* Help establish and expand a new integrated consultative Neuro ICU service at Penrose Hospital.
* Provide comprehensive neurocritical care, including managing stroke and neuro trauma volume.
* Lead and respond to stroke alert calls within the ICU, leveraging neurology expertise.
* Perform post-cardiac arrest neuroprognostication in alignment with hospital certification standards.
* Collaborate effectively with Critical Care, Trauma Critical Care, and Neurosurgery teams.
* Adhere to customary practice standards, medical ethics, and all recognized accreditation guidelines.
Qualifications:
Required
* Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
* Successfully completed a residency or fellowship commensurate with Neurocritical Care and/or Neurology specialty.
* Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
* Active and unrestricted Physician license in the State of Colorado
* Obtain and maintain an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
* Ability to obtain Medical Staff Privileges within the CommonSpirit Health system, at Penrose Hospital.
