V2X is seeking a Network Systems Engineer to provide support to the Naval Station Guantanamo Bay Infrastructure Transport (GBIT). Support Command, Control, Computer, Communications, and Intelligence (C4I) for real-world operations and exercises onboard Navy Base GTMO, it's tenant commands and other Department of Defense and U.S. Government agencies. This includes Joint Task Force Guantanamo's Terrorist Detainment Operations, Office of Military Commissions, and the Department of Homeland Security's Migrant Operations. GBIT requires Tier 2-4 support as well as Information Assurance (IA) support. Provides support for configuration management and accreditation of systems. Frequently develops, reviews, or updates documentation. Travel may be required. (5%).
Responsibilities:
* Initial support will include assisting the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) with installation, configuration, testing and accreditation of the GBIT
* Provide technical subject matter expertise on network operations, systems administrations, operating systems, applications, and hardware
* Ensures immediate restoration of network operations when failures or outages occur
* Provide technical experience in administering, maintaining, and repairing Windows 10 systems servers and clients
* Provide technical subject matter expertise and training in support of implementing authorized Information Assurance (IA) initiatives.
* Provide on-site engineering and technical support for the integration of Information Technology (IT) hardware and software upgrades at NCTAMS LANT Detachment (NCTL DET) GTMO
* Candidate must be capable of working independently with little or no supervision in a high operations tempo environment.
* Candidate will work primarily in computer facilities at NCTL DET GTMO, in an office or computer equipment room environment. Work outside of normal work week hours may be required, to participate in meetings, troubleshooting efforts, and installations or upgrades. Work outside at times may be required in austere weather conditions.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification:
* Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology (or equivalent technical degree) or 4+ years technical experience in related discipline
* 4+ years of experience with DoD enterprise or Navy networks
* 4+ years of experience in troubleshooting networks and operating system issues across multiple systems
Skills:
* Communicate well both orally and in writing
* Must be able to troubleshoot across multiple systems, including those off-site and work with other SMEs to determine cause and actions to take for restoration.
* Must be able modify technical documentation, SOPs, baseline documentation (drawings, topologies, etc.) and other systems engineering documents
* Must be able to use tools to develop architecture diagrams and prepare or support brief preparation under direction from the network lead
Clearance:
* Secret Clearance required
Preferred Certifications:
* IAT2 certifications required for both OS and IA (Security+ CE or equivalent required).
* CISCO certifications highly desired.
