Overview:
GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a Network Security Engineer to support the DC Office of Lottery and Gaming in SE Washington, D.C. This role begins with a mandatory 4-week onsite probationary period, followed by a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite per week) based on performance. Candidates must reside within 20 miles of the office and should be aware that future leadership decisions may require a return to 100% onsite work.
Responsibilities:
* Plan, analyze, design, implement, test, and maintain networked systems used for voice, data, and video transmission.
* Define and maintain network architecture and infrastructure.
* Configure and optimize network devices including servers, hubs, routers, and switches.
* Analyze network workloads and monitor capacity and performance.
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network problems.
* Develop and maintain network backup and recovery procedures.
* Install, upgrade, and maintain network operating systems and associated software.
* Apply and enforce information security policies, principles, and best practices.
* Manage telephony infrastructure, including VOIP systems, voice switching, provisioning, analog lines, ACD, and IVR.
* Implement and enforce network policies and procedures, including auditing, inspection, disaster recovery, and encryption.
* Monitor and manage network systems and appliances using tools such as Cisco ISE, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco FMC, SSH, Microsoft Active Directory, Intune, Kaseya, Cayosoft, RDP, IDS/IPS, firewalls, VMware vCenter, DHCP, DNS, and others.
* Coordinate interagency efforts and track project progress related to infrastructure, security, and networking.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in developing, configuring, installing, and maintaining LANs and WANs.
* Expertise in network architecture, standards, protocols, and systems management methods.
* Experience with routing and network configuration management.
* Proficiency in analyzing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and mitigating network performance issues.
* Familiarity with telephony systems and voice infrastructure management.
* Demonstrated ability to use various network monitoring tools, utilities, and appliances.
