				Overview:

GovCIO is currently hiring for a network engineer to support our client's contract needs. This position, located in Washington DC is a Hybrid Position and will be mostly remote work with some intermittent on-site work as needed.

Responsibilities:

* This role requires an experienced professional with a strong background in network engineering, proactive troubleshooting, and secure architecture support in high-demand, regulated environments. 
* Maintain, manage, and support enterprise network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, and regional offices.
* Monitor and troubleshoot network issues to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
* Create, maintain and update network documentation, diagrams, and configurations.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network requirements for projects and new deployments.
* Participate in capacity planning, network performance tuning, and root cause analysis.
* Maintain secure network access protocols and firewall configurations.
* Provide escalation support for complex network issues and coordinate with vendors (e.g., Cisco TAC) as needed.
* Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and security standards
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field with 5 - 8 years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

* 5-10 years of experience supporting enterprise networks infrastructure.
* Deep understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), NAT, ACLs, and VPNs.
* Strong knowledge of IP routing, switching, subnetting, VLANs, and ACLs.
* Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls.
* Knowledge of network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and troubleshooting methodologies.
* Solid understanding of network security principles and firewall management.
* Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
* Experience configuring and troubleshooting site-to-site and remote-access VPNs. 

Possess a current active certification in at least one of the following disciplines:

* CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, or CCDP

Clearance Required: Must be able to acquire and maintain CFTC Public Trust

Preferred Skills and Experience

* Experience with Cisco Nexus series switches, ASA's Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Firepower Management Center (FMC).
* Experience with Cisco VPN and VPN Profiles
* Familiarity with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) design.
* Exposure to cloud networking (Azure, AWS) and SD-WAN technologies.
* Experience with ITSM tools such as Service Now, FootPrints, and other ITSM tools
* Experience with NMS tools such as SolarWinds, ForeScout, Gigamon
* Knowledge of Visio, Scripting or automation experience is a plus.
