Overview: This position is physically located in Balad, Iraq Responsible for the evaluation, engineering, integration, operation, maintenance, cyber security, and evolution of the network environment. Provide project management at a technical level spanning multiple technologies and vendors. Assists with developing network infrastructure roadmaps, feasibility studies, and review of proposals with peer IT groups. Identify and coordinate continuous network infrastructure improvement efforts. Responsibilities: This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. * Support the engineering, design, and deploy highly available network services and solutions based on business, strategic, and technical requirements. * Assist with the development of network infrastructure roadmaps, feasibility studies, and review proposals with peer IT groups. * Identify and recommend continuous network infrastructure improvement efforts * Troubleshoot infrastructure and LAN/WAN issues as needed. * Research and solve complex problems regarding data communication failures and requirements. * Provide oversite for Cyber security measures, updates, and patches for the environment. * Provide Technical Project Management for the network infrastructure * Establish and document standards, policies and procedures. * Provide guidance and support to network engineering and IT support staff in remote locations. * Performs other duties and assignments as required. * Provide requisite technical training including documentation to network operators Qualifications: * OCN Education/Certifications: * Associates degree; Bachelor's degree preferred * Minimum CCNA/CCDA, higher certifications preferred * Baseline & Computing Environment certified in accordance with DoD 8570.1-M * Must be able to read/write and speak English. * Preferred Skills and Experience: * 3-5 years of related experience * Network design, engineering and integration * Technical documentation and training * Extensive knowledge of Cisco router and switch hardware * Extensive experience with Cisco IOS, NX-OS * Dynamic routing protocols * Project Management * Experience implementing and maintaining ACLs/Segmentation/Security * Skills: * Ability to manage outside service providers, consultants to accomplish defined projects * Strong organizational skills, and ability to lead projects with minimal supervision * Working Conditions: * Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. * Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). * Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. * Physical Requirements: * Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work. * Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. * Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
