Overview: Neonatologist Opportunity - Help Build a Brand-New NICU in Central Florida Responsibilities: Pediatrix(r) Medical Group is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Neonatologist to join our nationally recognized neonatology team at Orlando Health South Lake Hospital in Clermont, FL. About Orlando Health South Lake Hospital * Founded in 1947, South Lake Hospital is committed to serving the community and promoting healthy lifestyles. * 180 acre Wellness and Education campus The NICU & Practice Opportunity This brand new Level II NICU is designed for growth and supported by an established regional network. * Projected NICU average daily census of 5-6 by year-end * Newborn nursery ADC of 6-7 * ~2,000 annual deliveries * Support from Pediatrix's flagship Level IV NICU at Winnie Palmer Hospital (142 beds) * A collaborative care model with Neonatologists, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs), and Pediatric Hospitalists * On-call response time: within 30 minutes * Neonatologist schedule: 10-13 shifts (24-hour) per month, based on a combined in-house daytime and on-call evenings/weekends model * NNP staffing: 24-hour shifts, providing balanced coverage and continuity * Opportunity to rotate through the Level IV NICU at Winnie Palmer in Orlando Why Clermont, Florida? * Located just west of Orlando * Clermont offers a high quality of life, featuring unique rolling hills, scenic lakes, and small town charm * Plenty of new residential growth within an area known for top-rated schools * Popular with those seeking a quieter alternative to city living without sacrificing access to the many amenities of the Orlando market Join Pediatrix At Pediatrix, you'll be part of a physician-led organization known for clinical excellence, professional support, and long-term stability.
