Overview: One of the Fastest Growing Cities in the Nation - Tampa, Florida - The Sunshine State! Responsibilities: Pediatrix(r) Medical Group seeks a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join its well-established practice in the Tampa, Florida area. * This position will primarily cover the NICUs at St Joseph's Women's Hospital and St Joseph's North, with the opportunity to rotate to the other hospitals covered by the practice. * The NNP schedule will consist of 10 shifts per month, 16-hour night shifts and 24-hour weekend shifts * The group provides 24 hour in-house delivery room and newborn coverage at all hospitals * A combination of neonatologists and pediatricians provide normal newborn coverage at the hospitals * The team consists of 16 neonatologists, 5 neonatal hospitalists and 14 NNPs who provide care to patients in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties About the hospitals Neonatal coverage by the practice extends to Baycare locations at: * * St Joseph's Women's Hospital, a 76-bed Level-IV NICU with over 1000 NICU admissions per year and approximately 5000 births annually * Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, a Level-II NICU with 10 beds * Mease Countryside in Safety Harbor, a Level-III NICU with 12 beds * St. Joseph's South Hospital in Riverside, a Level-II NICU with 11 beds * St Joseph's North Hospital in Lutz, a Level-II NICU with 7 beds * South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City, a Level-II NICU with 7 beds About the area * Located on Florida's Gulf Coast, Tampa is famous for its beautiful beaches, including Clearwater Beach, St. Pete Beach and Honeymoon Island * The sports fanatic's paradise has three professional teams, including Tampa Bay Buccaneers (football), Tampa Bay Rays (baseball) and Tampa Bay Lightning (hockey) * A diverse population and rich cultural heritage are reflected in Tampa's museums, galleries and festivals * Various local and international cuisines, such as Cuban, Italian and seafood, for the food enthusiasts * Relatively low cost of living compared to other major cities in Florida * The area offers numerous state and nationally ranked public, private, and religious schools * Home to the University of South Florida, one of the state's largest universities * Abundance of year-round outdoor activities, such as golfing, boating, fishing, kayaking and hiking * A family-friendly city, with numerous parks, playgrounds and family-oriented activities * Tampa is Florida's third-largest city, with more than 387,000 residents and a metro area population of 2.9 million * Tampa enjoys warm weather throughout the year, with mild winters averaging 60 F and summers averaging 82 F Qualifications: * Current APRN national specialty certification * Minimum of a master's degree
