Overview: Where Tiny Miracles Thrive: Join Our Neonatology Team in Tallahassee Responsibilities: Pediatrix(r) Medical Group is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our well-established practice of 30 years at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. * The Level-III NICU has 34 beds, an ADC of 25 and 3,500 annual deliveries * The only area facility designated as a Level-III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, equipped to handle high-risk moms and premature or critically ill babies * This is a multi-specialty practice, consisting of neonatologists, NNPs, pediatric intensivists and pediatric hospitalists, working as a team to provide family centered quality healthcare * Supported by a variety of other specialists including: pediatric cardiology, pediatric endocrinology, pediatric radiology, pediatric neurology and pediatric orthopedics * Friendly, professional atmosphere with great nurses and ancillary services including a PICC team and a full time child life specialist * Transports are from other regional hospitals and staffed by a neonatal nurse and respiratory therapist * NNP schedule of 8 and 24-hour shifts About the Hospital * Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare is a 772-bed acute care hospital servicing a 21-county area in North Florida and South Georgia * Home to the region's primary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit * Leads the region by delivering more than 75 percent of the babies born in the area * The only hospital in Tallahassee to earn the Baby-Friendly Hospital designation, dedicated to providing patient-centered care to new babies and their families * Affiliated with 4 residency programs Tallahassee Fast Facts * Located in the Florida panhandle, Tallahassee is Florida's state capital * Vibrant college scene with Florida State University, Florida A&M University and Tallahassee State College located in town * Plenty of sunny days to enjoy the outdoors throughout the year, with summers reaching the high 90s F and winter months averaging in the 60s F * Surrounded by beautiful parks, lakes and forests, including the Apalachicola National Forest, the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge and the Wakulla Springs State Park * Less than a one hour drive to the beach and Gulf Coast * Diverse city with a mix of cultural backgrounds, relatively low cost of living with affordable housing * Sports fans enjoy the Florida State Seminoles, one of the most successful college football programs in the country, and minor league baseball and soccer teams * A tight-knit community with a strong sense of civic engagement, providing numerous opportunities to get involved in local organizations and volunteer work Qualifications: * Current APRN national specialty certification as an NNP * Minimum of a master's degree
