The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a National Senior Program Lead for the Health Care by Food Initiative with our National Center. The location of the selected candidate is flexible and remote.
This is a full-time, benefits eligible, grant-funded opportunity, current funding is through July 2028.
The Senior Program Lead for Health Care by Food will lead a national strategy to guide and oversee food is medicine implementation pilots in State Medicaid programs. Responsibilities include coordinating technical assistance, convenings, stakeholder engagement, and capturing learnings and creating dissemination strategies. This role will also be responsible for ensuring grant reporting and reconciliation; and serve as primary point of contact for project engagement. The ideal candidate brings experience working with or in Medicaid or with public or private insurers, experience with population health, and large-scale project execution.
Expected pay range will be $100,00 to $110,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.

Responsibilities:
* Manage strategic relationships with state Medicaid teams participating in the Health Care by Food initiative
* Coordinate delivery of high-touch technical assistance, including implementation planning, evaluation design, and documentation
* Serve as the internal point person liaising between AHA science teams, policy staff, external consultants and state agencies
* Plan and facilitate semi-annual national roundtables that convene payors, Medicaid leaders, lived experience partners, and technical experts
* Drive real-time problem-solving, peer learning, and collaboration across states, including broader knowledge dissemination strategy via the initiative's Knowledge Hub
* Ensure timelines, milestones, and outputs are met across diverse, fast-moving projects
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
* Five (5) years of experience developing and leading health benefits innovation and/or Medicaid policy.
* Strong project management skills and experience coordinating across internal and external stakeholder groups.
* Familiarity with benefit design, healthcare cost modeling, and value-based care strategies.
* Excellent writing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and within interdisciplinary teams.
* Experience in public health or non-profit services.
* Familiarity with Food is Medicine interventions, Medicaid policy, or health services research preferred.
* Ability to travel up to 15% of time.
