NH - Licensed Practical Nurse

				Overview:

The Licensed Practical Nurse performs responsibilities that are supportive and/or restorative under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. Provides nursing care to an assigned group of patients, and administers medications and/or treatments upon demonstration of ability in accordance with policy of the Hospital.

Responsibilities:

Provides direct patient care: 

*  Performs tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Registered Nurse as related to:
*  Hygiene and physical comfort
*  Medical treatments and selected nursing interventions
*  Nutritional needs
*  Ambulation and exercise
*  Elimination
*  Patient safety
*  Administraters medication as assigned
*  Performs CPR
*  Takes vitals
*  Transports patients
*  Prepares patients for tests and procedures

Qualifications:

Education:

* Graduate of accredited nursing program(s).

Experience:

* Demonstrates competence and experience in nursing within the limits of preparation and legal scope of practice.

Licenses, Certifications:

* Licensed and currently registered as a Practical Nurse in NYS.

Physical Requirements:

* Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day.  
* Position will be required to stoops, bends, lifts, carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
