Hospice of the Midwest is seeking a compassionate and creative Music Therapist in Des Moines, IA. As a Music Therapist You will:     

* Assess patients' functional status, musical responses, and preferences 

* Develop individualized treatment plans to help patients meet goals 

* Deliver music therapy using instruments, singing, movement, and listening 

* Monitor and evaluate patient progress regularly and update care team  

* Maintain accurate clinical records and communicate changes in patient condition 

* Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care 

* Participate in meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives 

* Educate patients, families, caregivers, and staff on treatment plans

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or higher in music therapy from an AMTA-approved program 

* Board-certified (MT-BC) by CBMT 

* Preferred: 2 years clinical music therapy experience 

* Valid driver's license with insured, reliable vehicle 

* Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills 

* Understanding of hospice philosophy and end-of-life issues
