Overview:
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a skilled and motivated Project Manager to join our Municipal Engineering team in Clinton, NJ. This leadership role offers the opportunity to manage a variety of public infrastructure projects that directly impact local communities, including roadway improvements, utility design, stormwater management, and municipal facility upgrades. As a Project Manager, you will oversee all phases of project development-from concept to completion-while working closely with municipal clients, regulatory agencies, and internal design teams. Responsibilities:
* Prepare effective work plans and man-hour budgets for approval by Department Manager.
* Monitor time schedules and capital cost budgets on projects to satisfy the client as well as control work and productivity.
* Prepare advanced engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
* Responsible for the quality control/quality assurance process on all assigned projects.
* Oversee the work and productivity on assigned projects.
* Strive to achieve predetermined goals for profit, productivity targets, and schedule of deliverables.
* Participates in formulating and coordinating proposals and provides other Marketing support, including Business Development.
* Identify the project team, work packages and tasks, evaluation methods, productivity targets, schedule of deliverables and man power needed on projects.
* Hold team meetings ensuring procedures governing review and approval of projects are followed prior to submission of completed work.
* Negotiate with clients on any scope changes relative to project budgets and schedules subject to supervisors' approval.
* Coordinate and communicate effectively with all employees involved in the project to ensure high utilization rates (i.e. Project team meetings).
* Review monthly man-hour and cost reports to ensure projects are being completed at the pre-determined goal.
* Ensure everyone involved is working in accordance with all project planning and profit control procedures.
* Ensure that all scope revisions affecting the project schedule and/or budget are discussed with the client.
* Solicit help and involvement from Department Managers and any other managers to troubleshoot any technical problems.
* Works efficiently with the Billing Department to authorize and transmit bills to client. Follows up with clients for timely payments.
* Mentor junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices, and enhancing corporate objectives.
Qualifications:
* 8+ years of related experience.
* Bachelors degree in engineering.
* Professional Engineering License preferred.
* Extensive knowledge of all aspects of municipal engineering including capital project design, stormwater management, utility design, cost estimating, construction administration, land use, etc.
* In-depth knowledge of the regulatory permitting process for the region.
* Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
* Proven track record with client management and business development.
* Ability to manage staff.
* Experience with preparing proposals, developing budgets, tracking budgets and the associated financial management skills necessary to run a team and monitor the performance of the business.
* Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Compensation: $106,155 to $153,930 (Depending on qualifications)
